The Historic Delta Chapter Returns to Tulane

Phi Mu recolonized the historic Delta Chapter at Tulane University on September 3. Previously on campus from 1906 – 1992, the Delta Chapter is now the oldest active chapter in the country as well as home to two Past National Presidents and a National Panhellenic Conference Chairman.

Members of the Delta colony are well respected by their peers and the administration at Tulane. They bring with them a wide range of academic backgrounds including anthropology, international business and architecture. The ladies are involved on campus as well, holding leadership offices on student government, residence hall boards, orientation teams and the student conduct board. Phi

On September 18, Phi Mu welcomed 252 new members of the Lambda Theta colony at the University of South Carolina, the largest colonization to date for the campus and the ninth Southeastern Conference (SEC) school for Phi Mu.

New members of the Lambda Theta colony will enjoy all the benefits of Greek life such as
sisterhood activities, leadership development opportunities, social events, community service
projects and academic support. Most importantly, they will have the unique opportunity
to be founding members of their chapter, leaving their legacy at the university.

Among our Phi Mu sisters at USC are capstone scholars, student ambassadors, Gamecock
cheerleaders as well as members of the field hockey, track and dance teams.

The Rho Theta Colony at Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill., was officially installed by Robin
Fanning, ΒΙ, National President, as a Phi Mu chapter on April 25, 2009. Forty-nine collegiate members as well as three alumnae initiates were installed at the service held at First
United Methodist Church in Elmhurst. A reception for parents, alumnae, advisory council,
administration, and guests from the college immediately followed the ceremony.

“It is always a happy day when we install a new chapter. It is one of my favorite Phi Mu experiences,” said Robin. “Our Elmhurst women worked very hard this semester for their special day.”
