This is a true story.

I went to school one day without my lunch, but I didn’t know it until lunch time.  I started crying when I realized my Scooby Doo lunchbox was missing.  My small elementary school doesn’t have a cafeteria, so Mom sends my lunch everyday.  Well, almost everyday.

My teacher, Mrs. Anderson, gave me a hug and told me not to worry.  She asked the kids in the class if anyone had something little they could share from their lunch that day.  All the kids started offering me something from their lunchboxes.  Soon I had some grapes, cheese, crackers and half of my friend Martine’s peanut butter sandwich.  Martine doesn’t really like peanut butter much anyway.  I think I ended up with a much better lunch than my mom packed – just don’t tell her!

When I got home from school, I told my mom about my day.  She was really sorry about the missing lunchbox, but very grateful to all the kids and my teacher for helping me.  And then, it got her thinking.

You see, my mom is your Alumnae Development Director and it’s her job to try to keep you involved with Phi Mu in your alumnae years.  She has been really concerned about the small number of sisters who join alumnae chapters in cities across America.

Phi Mu Fraternity really needs your financial support.  Without your annual dues, Phi Mu will continue to find it difficult to fund the cost of putting Phi Mu chapters on new campuses and take care of the chapters you already have.

So, will you please take a little out of your “lunchbox” to help feed and nourish Phi Mu?  For only $30 a year, as a Forever Faithful member, you will be keeping Phi Mu healthy and strong for future generations.  Maybe even me!
