Important Change in Legacy Policy
A small, but important, change has been made to the language regarding legacies in Phi Mu’s Standing Rules & Procedures. It is now required that the Phi Mu family member must be in good standing with the Fraternity in order for her legacy to receive the benefit of legacy status during recruitment.

“Everyone is encouraged to contact Phi Mu Headquarters and check on the status of her membership. Often, if a member is in bad standing, it’s from a small fee she didn’t know was owed. It’s so simple to clear up,” said Lana Bulger, ΑΟ, Vice President Collegiate Membership. “Maintaining good standing with the Fraternity allows alumnae access to all the benefits of membership in Phi Mu and that’s a great thing!”

The new legacy policy reads as follows:
“A Phi Mu legacy is the sister, half-sister, step-sister, daughter, step-daughter, granddaughter, or great-granddaughter of a Phi Mu in good standing with the Fraternity. It is the responsibility of each Phi Mu to know her membership status. Each collegiate chapter is responsible for verifying their legacies with the Headquarters.” Article VIII, Section 2. C.2.a. of Standing Rules & Procedures.
